Capri woke up so excited about her “special day” her 2nd Birthday.  If you ask her how old she is- she says “I’m Two!” and it makes you want to die from cuteness.  We woke up this morning, and cuddled as a family, and watched a part of a Dora episode called “Boots special day”, and then a song on one of her Imagination Movers show called the “un-party” where they sing a birthday song, and then we watched a Choo Choo Soul song where they sing a celebration song about your birthday!  Well, after all that she was so excited for her special day, and to go to her favorite place in the world-Bellaboo’s!

Here she is in her little birthday outfit with her long hair in a ponytail (oh my gosh, she is old enough for ponytails!)

Well, we got to Bellaboo’s, which is a play, and discovery center (similar to a children’s museum, but smaller, cleaner, and way cooler!) and we had set it up as a joint birthday party for Capri, and her friend Selah, who was turning 4!

and they started off the party with our Bellaboo helpers who sang a birthday song, and started the birthday parade to the first room, which was the water play room!  The kids got smocks on-

and had so much fun playing with all the water, and all the water toys

Then, the Bellaboo helpers keep the parade going and transition the kids to the next room, a building, and construction room, where they can put hats on, and vests and build giant blocks!

Then we moved to this awesome train room, with a giant train table!  What kid doesn’t love this stuff?

Then we went into the art studio and the kids all colored these papers cut into circles, that later became part of a constructed cake for each birthday girl!

On the right side is the other birthday girl, Selah!

Bellaboo’s even has an infant play room, for babies under two!  It’s completely padded, with a little mirror, and ballerina bar right at crawlers height!  It has tons of baby toys, and things for them to climb on!

Here is baby Ivy enjoying the infant room:

After the infant room comes this adorable little room where the kids all sit on chair at a low mirror and paint their faces!  It’s so fun to watch them have the freedom to do this! Capri gave me enough time to write a “B” for Birthday girl on her cheek!

The next area is our favorite, and I have the least pictures from there!  I think we were having so much fun, we never stopped to take any pictures!  They have an entire pretend play area with a pizzeria (with an oven, pizzas, aprons, pitchers, a sink, a table!), and an entire grocery store equipped with real (empty) food boxes (like Betty Crocker cookie mixes), a frozen aisle, as well as a video rental department, with checkout lanes and registers!  There is also a dress up area with princess clothes, capes, policeman hats and more.  Then, there is this perfect little tiny kitchen, with a complete kitchen, and fridge with tons of pretend food, and a washer and dryer!  Capri could just live at this place, I wish I had it at my house!

Here is Capri outside the pizzeria

The next area is a large play place with slides, and a balloon pit.  What makes it special and nice is that the play place up to the slide is wide and designed to fit adults, and is padded for all those parents squeezing through to help their little ones.  The ball pit is cleaned every day, with this cool little device that the kids can put a ball through a hole, and it sucks it up and sends it through this series of clear tubes, through a sanitizer, and then drops it back in the pit all clean!  Everything about this place is clean, and taken care of, it’s amazing.

Then they lead the birthday parade into a big room for our birthday party!  They served us home-made yummy pizza, and they provided drinks.  They provided cupcakes, and we brought our own gluten-free/dairy free cake for Capri (lovingly made by Selah’s mommy Jaymi !)  It was a great big room with fun lights, party favors (with crayons, and kazoos and bubbles and more!), music! Here is Capri really loving her cake, and pink lemonade, which she got all over her!

Bellaboo’s has free WiFi- so we were able to Skype my parents, my Sister and Brother, and their three boys- it was so fun that we could include them!  Here is Capri talking to them!

We opened presents in the cafe, and Capri was so excited!  She loved this littler purse sent from her Uncle Johnny and Aunt Janine.  She was a little pre-occupied when opening it though, (he he)….

It was such a special day for all of us, and Bellaboo’s did a great job of making it so easy for this Mama!  We actually ended up going home and napping, and then coming back and playing until they closed (just Capri, Wade and I)!

Thank you so much to all of our friends who made it such a great day, and gave such wonderful gifts!

I’m so proud of my *big* girl- she is growing up way-too-fast, but I’m enjoying every moment!

  1. Love all of these! What an exciting day. We’re leaning toward having Luke’s party at Bellaboo’s (you know how much I love it), so it was great to read about what a party at Bellaboo’s is like.

  2. Harry and Dani
